Pacific Coast and Peninsula: Southerly winds will steadily rise along the coastline this morning and through the early afternoon, reaching gusts of 25 to 30 mph. Residents right by the water also have a slight chance of seeing drizzles by midnight as thicker clouds roll onto the coastline and San Francisco Bay. This means nighttime temperatures will likely only fall to the mid-40s on the west side and lower 40s east of Sutro Tower. Moisture levels will increase along Highway 1 as clouds roll up from the Pacific Ocean. Winds will also kick up east of Sutro Tower this afternoon, gusting between 15 to 20 mph around 1 p.m. The hi-res forecast from the Baron weather model, signaling a rush of winds gusting over 20 mph across most of the Outer Sunset and Richmond districts. The North American weather model – which tends to have a bias toward wetter weather forecasts – is suggesting that these winds will blow humid air into the coastline by noon. This system will blow south winds into the Peninsula and west side of San Francisco, spreading into all corners of the Bay Area Thursday afternoon.
